Job Description:

As a dietitian, you will work with individuals and groups to provide dietary advice and promote healthy eating habits. You will be required to work in a variety of settings, including clinics, homes, schools, and private practices. You are responsible for assessing nutritional needs, developing, and implementing meal plans, and providing education and counselling to promote healthy eating habits.

What you will do:

Roles and Responsibilities (as per the new graduate roles and responsibilities):
Assess Nutritional Needs: you are responsible for assessing the nutritional needs of your clients. You will need to use a variety of tools, including medical history, medicals tests results, and dietary assessments, to determine nutritional deficiencies and areas of concern.
Develop meal plans: Based on their assessments, you will develop personalised meal plans that meet clients' nutritional needs and support their health goals. You may also provide meal planning for specific medical conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease.
You will also need to provide education and counselling to your clients on healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes to promote overall wellness. You are able to provide group education sessions on nutrition and healthy eating if suitable.
You will be required to monitor your clients' progress and adjust meal plans as needed to ensure they are meeting their nutritional needs and health goals.
Work Collaboratively: Dietitians work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as Speech Pathologists and local GPs, to provide comprehensive care to their clients. You may also work with food service personnel to develop healthy menus in institutional settings
There will be a need to work with slightly more complex clients in this role.
You will also be responsible for:
Education and support of individuals, including family members, caregivers, and others, through collaborative and consultative partnerships and familycentred approaches.
Give opportunity to new grads to observe.
Be a buddy for new grad practitioners.
Participate in MDT training and workshops.
Begin to build skills in particular clinical areas.
