What you will do:
Clinical duties and requirements
Support therapists in implementing therapy plans for clients across various settings, including clinic rooms, gym, hydrotherapy pools, home visits, and school environments
Work with clients of all ages, assisting in exercises, activities, and interventions as directed by supervising allied health professionals
Conduct one-on-one and group therapy sessions under the guidance of therapists, fostering client engagement and encouraging progress
Observe and report on client progress, providing feedback to therapists to help adjust treatment plans as needed
Assist with the preparation and set-up of therapy activities and resources, ensuring sessions run smoothly and efficiently
Accompany therapists on home and school visits, helping with equipment setup and client support as required
Maintain clinic resources, including stock-taking, and ensuring equipment and materials are available and organised for therapy use
Ensure the upkeep and organization of therapy spaces and equipment, including cleaning and maintenance, to create a safe, welcoming environment for clients and staff
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and supportive clinic environment
Group programs: In conjunction with the relevant Allied Health clinician provide support with administrative duties relevant to the program you are supporting
Required Qualifications
Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) – or currently working toward this qualification
Minimum 12 months previous experience working in a clinical or community setting with NDIS clients is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of therapy techniques and exercises as they relate to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy is an advantage
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Current driver's license and access to reliable transportation for home and school visits
Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients of all ages and diverse backgrounds
Strong organisational skills to manage resources, maintain clinic areas, and prepare for therapy sessions
Ability to follow detailed instructions from supervising allied health professionals and work independently when required
Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and client documentation
Physical capability to assist with therapy activities, including lifting and manoeuvring therapy equipment as well as handling children in aquatic settings
